The Social and Epistemic Relevance of ‘Fake News’ in Cambodia

Fresh media is a popular Khmer-language online news outlet which has emerged in support of Cambodia’s change to hegemonic authoritarianism. Its emergence seems to have paralleled a government crackdown on purses of independent media that enact the liberal democratic project. New News has a particular sway in articulating, legitimizing, and hoping to craft support for the regime’s fresh notion of democracy, advertising an ongoing judicialization of mega-politics, and disseminating a talk of ‘fake news’ that seeks to create an epistemic shift.

In this post, I use an inductive techniques for analyse the transcripts of formal selection interviews conducted while using attendees of your day center and their activities with media.
